| Sharon Jean Smith, 56, of Newton WV, died Friday, January 3, 2020 at CAMC-Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
She was born April 6, 1963 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Ina Jean Abbott Smith of Newton and the late Ora Ray "Jack" Smith.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Jeremy Smith.
Sharon was a former employee of Charleston Newspapers. She was a member of the Newton Baptist Church, Newton and had attended the Johnson Creek Baptist Church, Looneyvillle.
In addition to her mother, survivors include sisters, Karen Roush of Charleston, Debbie Joyce also of Charleston and Carol May of Newton; nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at noon Wednesday, January 8 at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Steve Arbogast officiating. Burial will be in the J. Herbert Smith, Sr. Family Cemetery, Looneyville. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
