| Charles Rodney Holbert, 78, of Elizabeth WV passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2019 at his residence.
Rodney was the son of the late Charles Roscoe and Dorthy (Wigal) Holbert.
He was a 1959 graduate of Gilmore High School in Jackson Co. WV, and
retired in 1999 from DuPont of Washington WV, after 37 years of service.
He enjoyed setting on his porch and talking with his neighbors.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Roxie (Lynch) Holbert;
children, David (Carla) Holbert of Mineral Wells, Steven (Bernadette) Holbert, Brian (Mellissa) Holbert and Vicki (Ron) Knicely all of Elizabeth; grandchildren, Colt, Mike Robinson, Zaccari, Zayn, Levi, Kris, Brianna, Dustyn, Heaven, Tabitha and Sami Jo; great grandchildren, Finn, Dom and Charlie; siblings, Francis (Doris) Holbert of Parkersburg, Ralph (Delores) Holbert of Mineral Wells,
Leon Holbert, Jim (Jamie) Holbert and Bonnie (Walter) Trickett all of Sandyville, Ellen Lockhart of Parkersburg, Peggy (Alvin) Sims of PeeWee, and Barbara (John) Hunt of Parkersburg; sister in law, Kathie Holbert of Sandyville; Special caregivers Tracy Murphy and great niece Elizabeth Lynch; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Holbert; and one brother-in-law, Walter Lockhart.
Services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday Dec. 16, 2019 at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth with the Rev. Carlos Nutter officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will be in the New Home Cemetery (Mayberry) in Palestine WV.
