Due to expansion at Minnie Hamilton Health Systems, the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Departmentâs Calhoun Office will be relocating. The MOVHD is currently seeking a new location in Calhoun.
Calhoun Commissioner Chip Westfall said the commission has actively been assisting to find a new location which has to be handicap accessible and have parking.
Westfall said they have evaluated five locations, which have likely been narrowed to two sites.
Eric Walker, Executive Director, stated, ““We want the citizens of Calhoun to know that the MOVHD continues to support the needs of our Calhoun County citizens and are diligently searching for a place to re-establish the Calhoun County office within Calhoun County and have evaluated several sites at this time and will evaluate more in the near future.”
"We appreciate our relationship with Minnie Hamilton and look forward to the additional services that they will be able to offer to the citizens of Calhoun County with their expansion,"" Walker said.
December 16, 2019 will be the final clinic in the current Calhoun County facility. The final Womenâs, Infant, and Children (WIC) clinic will be December 18, 2019.
Temporary accommodations for Calhoun County Residents during this time will be the following:
- Environmental Health will be based out of the Wirt County office but residents can contact Angie Linville, Sanitarian at 304-580-6158 for assistance
- Clinical Services will be available in our Ritchie, Roane and Wirt County offices
- WIC will offer services in the surrounding counties â Ritchie, Roane, Wirt and Gilmer.
