Albert Edmond Roach, 83, of Little Hocking passed away December 3, 2019 at his residence.
He was born on October 2, 1936 in Rocksdale, WV and was the son of the late Kenna and Thelma Sampson Roach.
Albert proudly served our country and retired from the United States Army. He then went on to work for Walker Systems for 29 years. Albert was an active member of the Gospel Mission Church and a master woodworker. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Yvonne Maxine Harbin Roach, six children, son, Tim Roach, daughter, Birdie Shepard (Butch), son, Johnny Roach (Cindy), daughter, Rhonda Couch (Erv), son, Kenna Roach, and daughter, Tammy Lane, 16 grandchildren, Andy Roach (Viola), Courtney Roach, Joshua Shepard, Aaron Shepard (Kayla), Justin Shepard, (Lori), Kyle Shepard (Alisha), Cody Davis, Jessey Roach, Leah Roach, Sarah Bennett (Paul), Eric Sutton (Stacey), Autumn Nutter (Rob), David Persinger (Aimee), Dawn Rexroad (Aaron), Doug Johnson, and James Hartley (Brenda), 22 great-grandchildren and one on the way, and one brother, Rex Roach (Kathryn).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernie and Willard Roach (Becky), two daughter-in-laws, Bonnie and Gloria Roach, and one great-grandson Matthew Shepard.
Funeral services will be 11am Friday, December 6, 2019 at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Tim Burch officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 2-4pm & 6-8pm Thursday.
