MSG (Retired) Ronald Lee Price, 73, of Looneyville, W.Va., died Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, W.Va., after an extended illness.
He was born April 21, 1946, at Cumberland, Md., the son of the late William Frederick and Lillian Leona Chaney Price, Sr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Frederick Price, Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Shanholtzer and Ralph Robertson.
Survivors include his wife, Leona May Price of Looneyville; son and daughter-in-law, Derek Alan and Rebecca Price of Moorefield, W.Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Renetta Sue and Jeff Moon of Keyser, W.Va.; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Nicholas Paul and Linda Sprouse of Thornton, Col. and William Alexander Sprouse also of Thornton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma Jean Shanholtzer of Springfield, W.Va., Delores Jean Robertson of Keyser, Anna Marie and Michael Wheeler of Omaha, Neb.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul Richard and Bonnie Price of Short Gap, W.Va., Donald Keith and Darlene Price of Toano, Va. and Carol Ann Price of Ft. Ashby, W.Va.; grandchildren, Tiffany Elizabeth Moon, Clerissa Linell Moon, Malina Price and Lillian Annabelle Sprouse.
MSG Price was retired from the Army National Guard of West Virginia, after 20 years of service and a seven year Amy veteran, who served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4 at the West Virginia National Cemetery, Grafton, W.Va. with CH (MAJ) David Johns officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Army National Guard of West Virginia Honor Guard.
