A WINTERS NIGHT STORY: LOVINGLY TOLD ABOUT LIFE ON FAIRFAX FARMS

(11/13/2020)
Long and cold winter night's are here, and you might have time to read a story about a poor farm family moving to Fairfax Farm near the Calhoun-Wirt line.

The large farm likely held the largest piece of flatland in this greater area.

The best recorded recollections of Fairfax Farm is in an autobiography "Reclaimed Memories," by Elizabeth Thrash Brady (left) (1907-2002), who recalls moving with her family as a child from Braxton County to the farm in 1917, calling it a beautiful but isolated area.

Perhaps the best part of her writing, her warm and loving recollections.
