Representatives of FEMA, the Office of Emergency Services, the Small Business Administration and other agencies came to
Calhoun for an initial assessment of flood and ice damage.
The evaluation team toured Grantsville and surrounding areas, meeting briefly with some property owners, indicating the visit
is just a first step.

After several days of volunteerism, Chief Health takes relief workers on a tour
Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Steve Health took the agencies on a quick tour of the county. FEMA was
interested in "obtaining an overview" of the problem. They collected names and numbers of residents who have already
reported damage.
Property owners might qualify for some special assistance related to the recent storms, according to OES Director Bill
Stemple.
Residents who have received property damage to homes or businesses from the flood or ice storm should report the damage
now.

"It is essential for county residents to call 354-9271 and report the losses," said Stemple, who is building a case for disaster
assistance. "We must have enough damage to quality." he said.
Stemple said to give a general description of the damage, name, address and phone number.
