Thomas "Tom" Carlton Ullum, 66, of Grantsville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 22, 2019.
He was born July 22, 1953 in Parkersburg, the son of the late Harold Carlton Ullum and Helen Wanda Cain Ullum Furr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, the late Donald Floyd Furr.
Tom was a 1971 graduate of Calhoun County High and 1975 graduate of Glenville State College, belonging to the Theta Xi Fraternity. He graduated with a Degree in Business Administration. Later, he went on to become a Journeyman Millwright and was a member of Millwright Union Local 1755 and worked from 1974 to 1997.
He also served on the Executive Board for the Millwright Local Union. Tom co-owned and operated Furr's Auto Sales from 1997- 2014 and was co-owner of Ullum Oil and Gas from 1995-2009 with his brother, Harold C. "Dick" Ullum.
Thomas was a member of Knotts Memorial United Methodist Church and enjoyed his church family. He was very passionate about his love for animals and never passed up an animal without a home, taking in many strays and developing strong attachments to his furry friends. Also, he very much enjoyed associating with his friends and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sheree Dove Ullum and his daughter, Cicily Rachelle Ullum of Grantsville; brother and sister-in-law, Harold Cain "Dick" and Alice Ann Ullum of Grantsville; three grandchildren, Kyla Raber, Janissa Hayes, and Jackson Ullum; two nieces, Sara (Mike) Stalnaker and Samara Samad; three great nephews, Brandon, Andrew, and Matthew Stalnaker; one sister-in-law, Sarita (Ali) Samad of Alpharetta, Ga.; and one brother-in-law, Carl Tidwell of Decatur, Ga.
A memorial service for Thomas will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29 at Knotts Memorial United Methodist Church, Grantsville, with the Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery, Grantsville. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
