| SUICIDE BY COP? - A suspect is dead after Huntington police responded Tuesday morning to a hostage situation.
Police responded about 6 a.m. to a situation on Eighth Street.
“During the situation, the hostage taker fired upon our officers,” Huntington Police Chief Hank Dial said. “Our officers returned fire and the suspect has died from the wounds he received.”
No other injuries were reported.
Dial confirmed the hostage situation was not inside the Speedway nearby.
