The Rev. Arthur Joseph Spring, 63, of Kingwood, WV, formerly of Newburg, WV, died February 16, 2003, at Preston Memorial Hospital, Kingwood.
He was born February 22, 1939, in Butler, Pennsylvania, a son of Susan Margaret Hladum Turner of Willowick, Ohio, and the late Arthur Joseph Spring. He was a minister for more than 30 years and served 20 years for the United Methodist Conference. In December 2002, he retired as minister of the Newburg Charge of the United Methodist Church. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Edith Regina Richards Spring, (formerly of Calhoun Ciunty, West Virginia) children, Richard "Rick" and Tammy Spring of Buckhannon; one daughter and spouse, Reva "Sis" and Gordie Roberts of Williamstown; one brother, Thomas Arthur Turner of Willowick; six grandchildren, Arthur "AJ" Spring, Mary E. Spring, Regina Mayo, Mae Roberts, Celena Spring, Stephen Spring; and one great-grandson, Dresden "Rooster" Mayo.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, William "Bill" Turner in 1979.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lobb Funeral Home, 295 South Price St., Kingwood with the Rev. Martin Wine officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Scotch Hill, Newburg. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
