Thousands of trees fell across rural roads

By Bob Weaver

A week has passed since the ice and snow storm struck the region, and several rural sections are still without electric and phone service. Several areas of the county took a bigger hit, mostly through the middle section. The southern and northern sections had a slight break, but not much.

The power company advised most areas would have electric restored by Sunday night, but crew leaders said it could be several days for some areas. Now facing flooding, the crews may be delayed with their work efforts.
