"We are not losing any water, currently," according to Calhoun Schools
administrator
Donnie Pitts, commenting on a pesky water leak at Calhoun Middle/High
School. Pitts
said a one inch line to the school's sewage plant was repaired last
week. He said it
was not properly glued by the contractor and separated over time and
pressure.
The water pipes at the new school complex began leaking last August,
eventually
causing the water bill to climb to over $3000 a month from a usual
$800-$900.
Pitts said one leak was discovered in a line going to the new
facilities building and
bus garage. He said he was concerned about leaks which might be under
the parking
lot.
"We intend to begin repairing the other leak as the weather gets a
little better. That
line is turned off," said Pitts.
