The West Virginia Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, conducted the 2019 Cadet Summer Encampment from July 6th-13th, at Camp Dawson in Kingwood, Preston County, West Virginia. Calhoun Composite Squadron had 9 cadets and 1 senior member attending.
Activities at this yearâs Encampment included, marching, military drills, land and water survival, Ironman and Ultimate Frisbee competitions, obstacle courses, rocket building, rifle shooting, DUI simulators, repelling and rock wall climbing, Black Hawk Helicopter rides, C130 Airplane rides, and calisthenics, as well as learning about WVâs snake population, and moral character development.
Cadets were up st 5:30 a.m. for Calisthenics and in bed at 9:30 p.m. each day.
All 9 Calhoun County Cadets graduated from the 2019 Encampment.
Calhoun cadets attending were, Kinlea Church, Hannah Beckner,
Hailey Norman, Levi Good, Adam Cole Lahe, Jocey Cutshall,
Clayton McIntyre, Bradyn Toney and Kameryn Toney. Senior member attending was Jackie Blankenship.
