It was awards and recognition night at Cub Scout Pack #436 in
Grantsville last night,
the annual Blue and Gold Banquet held at the First Baptist Church.
Eric McKay and
Charles Hinzman participated in the Webelos Arrow of Light Ceremony,
which makes
them eligible to become Boy Scouts.
Master bow shooter Kevin Miller shot the
ceremonial arrow, designating the completion of the boy's achievements
as Cub
Scouts. Dave Curry from the Boy Scouts of America participated in the
ceremony.
The Tigers, Bears, Wolfs and Webelos received attendance and
achievement awards
after the banquet, which was attended by scouts and parents. Pack
Scoutmaster
Paul Funk welcomed the group to the special evening, which was
organized by
Johnetta Bush, Lorri Cunninghman, Rose Knight and Joyce Williams.
A $50 savings bond furnished by Loren Howley was won by Dillion
Richards. Clinton
Bush won a $25 WalMart certificate. Zach Swearengin won a $25 cash
prize and
Daniel Slider won a special coin collection. Prizes for all the
scouts, furnished by local
merchants and individuals, were distributed.
