Ruth Ellen Burnside, 77, of Ivydale WV passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Clay Health Care Center following a long illness.
She was born March 27, 1942 in Braxton County, WV, a daughter of the late Denver and Icie Hardway Criner.
She is survived by her sons Phillip Burnside of Duck WV and Richard Burnside of Ivydale WV; step-son, Jerod Burnside of Florida; five grandchildren, Brooklyn Cottrell, Ashley May, Johnny Blevins, Little Phillip Burnside, and Peyton Mae Burnside; one great-grandson, Zaden Cadle; sisters Wanetta Marks of Duck WV and Marie Marks of Fairmont WV; brother, Denver Leon Criner of Akron Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Amos Burnside; daugthers, Debra Ann and Kathlene Blevins; sister, Cora Criner, and brother, James Criner.
A funeral service will be conducted Monday, July 15, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Ivydale WV with Pastor James Williamson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery.
