WOMAN LIES ABOUT STABBING HUSBAND -Dunbar police said a man told officers he was stabbed by his wife, who then instructed him to tell authorities he was cut while someone was trying to rob them.

Patricia Kay White, 46, of Sissonville is charged with malicious assault after an incident that occurred about 1 a.m. Wednesday on railroad tracks near the intersection of Wilson Street and Dunbar Avenue, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.

The complaint said police responded to the scene after Metro 911 said a woman, identified as White, said her husband had cut his arm. The woman then started screaming and crying and hung up the phone.

Police said White was standing outside of an ambulance, where her husband was being treated, and she appeared to have blood on her.

The woman told officers she and her husband were walking along the tracks when a person jumped out and stabbed her husband in the arm, the complaint said. Police said she was unable to give any type of description of the person or what immediately happened after the stabbing.

Police said White’s husband, David Sims, told officers that following an argument, his wife pulled out a knife, said she was going to kill him and stabbed him in the right arm. He said White then told him to tell authorities he was injured when someone tried to rob them.

White is currently being held at South Central Regional Jail on a $5,000 or 10 percent cash bond.

CHARLESTON SHOOTING - Charleston police said a married couple faces charges after a shooting that injured a woman at an apartment complex.

Kerry Jemison, 27, and Cierra Jemison, 20, are charged with malicious wounding following an incident that happened about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday at Vista Apartments on Renaissance Circle.

Police said Kerry Jemison shot his ex-girlfriend, Quentia Ellis, in the back, and Cierra Jemison pepper sprayed her. Dispatchers said the victim was taken to the hospital. Police said the victim is currently in stable condition.

Kerry Jemison told police the gun accidentally discharged when he tried to intervene in a fight between the victim and his pregnant wife, police said.

A criminal complaint said the woman who was shot told police that Cierra Jemison lured her into the apartment by sending her a text message posing as her husband, Kerry Jemison. When she entered the apartment, the woman said, Cierra Jemison doused her with pepper spray. The woman said she was bent over after she was sprayed, and Kerry Jemison came out of an bedroom inside the apartment and shot her in the back.

Charleston police said Kerry Jemison fled the scene on foot and threw the firearm into a trash chute inside the apartment complex. Kerry Jemison was apprehended shortly after he fled.

Police said they had been to both apartments earlier, and the trio have a history of domestic disturbances.

The Jemisons are being held at South Central Regional Jail. No bond has been set.
