A Gilmer County man was arrested after he allegedly beat and strangled his wife.
According to the criminal complaint, police responded to the home of Robert George on the night of June 13. The victim had a domestic protective order against him.
According to police, the victim told them that George threw punches at her, hit her with a spatula, and strangled her. He allegedly made death threats to the victim.
According to police, George allegedly said to the victim, "One way or another I'll find out, you're dead."
Police noted that the victim had several marks on her. Emergency medical services arrived and took the victim to the hospital.
George was arrested and charged with strangulation, domestic battery and assault, and violation of a domestic protective order.
