Pat Wildfire, a Calhoun High School senior, is a finalist in the National Merit Scholarships,
being offered in 2003.
NMS will begin mailing scholarship in March, making offers to some 8,000 Merit Scholarship winners from the group of
more than 15,000 finalists
Wildfire has academic performance that is consistently high in grades 9 through 12, with college course work taken, having
exceptional PSAT scores.
The last National Merit Scholarship finalists from Calhoun High School were Darris Hupp in 2002 and Katie Smyth in
1999.
