| 5-17-2019 - A Calhoun man has died of injuries suffered in a truck crash.
He has been identified as Jeffery Scott Sampson, 49, of Mt. Zion, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.
Also injured in the crash was Eddie Burrows, 30, of Grantsville, who was taken to Marietta Hospital for injuries.
The men were reportedly going to work in the oil and gas field early Friday when the accident happened.
Police said the truck crashed off the road, over an embankment and into some trees.
Sampson was a passenger in a pickup truck when the wreck happened on State Route 7, Monroe County, Ohio, ejecting him from the vehicle. He was not using safety restraints. He was dead on scene.
The Ohio Highway Patrol said Burrows left the scene of the accident and was found at a gas station several hours later.
