Barbara Lee Marks, 83, of Leatherbark, West Virginia, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019, at Miletree Center, Spencer.
She was born September 16, 1935, at Leatherbark, the daughter of the late James Jerome Ash and the late Mary Jane Lesher Ash Bowman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Tanner; half brothers and sisters, Paul Woodring, Evelyn Townsend, Irene Manly, Glenis Ash, Dennis Ash, Cecil Ash, Ivy Ash, Harley Ash, Melva Ash and Ila Ash.
Barbara was united in marriage to Rev. Carl R. Marks on the 4th of July 1981 at Arnoldsburg.
In addition to her husband, survivors include children, Ronald Caley of Norfolk, Va., Debra Mace and Vera Blosser both of Spencer W.Va., Robert Caley of Virginia Beach, Va., and Susan Roberts of Barberton, Ohio; stepchildren, Veronica Nagy of Wooster, Ohio, Curtis Marks of Millstone, WVa., Gwinna Marks of Arnoldsburg, WVa., Carlena Whited of Creston, WVa. and Robert Marks of Stinson, W.Va.; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; ten step grandchildren and 19 step grandchildren; sister, Nancy Starcher of Burning Springs, WVa.
She was a former employee of the Spencer Hospital, Spencer and the Ravenna Arsenal, Ravenna, Ohio. Barbara attended the Church of the Living God, Spencer. Her hobbies included bowling and bird watching.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 9 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. John Cummings officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.
The visitation will be one hour before the service.
