Nolan C. Parson, 91, Belmont, WV, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at his residence. Born in Orma, Calhoun County, WV, on June 26, 1927, he was a son of the late Theodore Abraham and Opal Beatrice Wears Parsons. He attended Calhoun County High School, was drafted into the Army and was a World War II Era Veteran. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and was a 50 year Painter and Paperhanger Local Union 1144. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bee keeping, took a trip to Alaska and for 25 years to trips to Canada.
Survivors include one daughter, Marjorie Parsons; one son, Richard “Pat” (Cheryl) Parsons; five grandchildren, Brian Parsons, Keith VanNoy, Sarah Parsons, Scott Parsons, and Ashley Kahan; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Glenola Woodyard, and Pam Howard; two brothers, Dean Parsons and Randy Parsons; daughter-in-law, Brenda Parsons; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and outlaws. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 62 years, Lorena Kelly Parsons; son, Dr. Nolan Parsons, Jr.; sister, Margaret Mayfield; and two baby brothers.
Service will be 2:00 P.M Monday, April 22, 2019 at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys with David Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasants Memorial Estates with military rites at the grave.
