911 service was down in Calhoun Sunday evening, as was most phone service.
Frontier could not be reached to see when service would be restored.
Calhoun's 911 Center said Spencer's 911 Center could be reached with most cell phones and could relay messages to the Calhoun Center.
About 37,000 WV were without power Sunday as winds whipped through the region, gusts hit 47 mph in Calhoun.
Electric service was disrupted in several areas of Calhoun, with 911 receiving reports of nine trees or poles down.
At 7 p.m. Sunday 635 customers were still without power in Calhoun with 4,556 customers.
