Ruth Ann Yost, 96, of Chloe WV went home to be with the Lord February 10, 2019 at Roane General Hospital, Spencer WV.
She was born at Floe in Clay County WV on August 30, 1922. She was the daughter of the late John Burton and Belle Vaughan.
She is survived by her two daughters, Launa Butler of Chloe and Carolyn Lane of Orma WV; six grandchildren, Bev and Bill Mullins of Chloe, Ron and Jackie Butler of Princeton WV, Rick and Rita Butler of Hacker Valley WV, Rhonda and Charlie Laughlin of Arnoldsburg WV, Vickie and Cecil Rogers of Minnora WV, and Michelle Cutshall of Chloe; 15 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt. She was a homemaker and a caregiver to many. She attended Walker United Methodist Church, was a Sunday School teacher and song leader until she was unable to attend. She was a very sweet lady, loved God and everyone around her. She will be deeply missed by many family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-mother, Anna Vaughan, husband Fountain Yost, three sisters, Mabel Smith, Ruby Hensley, and Geneva Snyder; one brother, Paul Vaughan; son-in-law, Nolan Butler, and a great-grandchild, Lucas Butler.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Arnoldsburg, WV with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Yost Cemetery.
