Evelyn F. Stutler, 89, of Spencer, West Virginia died February 11, 2019 at Charleston Area Medical Center's Memorial Division, Charleston, West Virginia.
She was born November 2, 1929 in Roane County, a daughter of the late Francis C. and Dorcas Bartlett Foster. She was a member of the Bethel U.M. Church for over 60 years and secretary and treasurer for the past 50 years, a member of Wetzel Chapter #27 Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years where she was Worthy Matron, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary where she was past president and secretary and treasurer for over 20 years and also president of the 4th district.
She worked for Spencer State Hospital, the Roane County Sheriff, and retired from the State of West Virginia.
She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, embroidery, canning and her flowers. Her greatest enjoyment were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent years going to her sons sports events.
She attended the Tammy and Triplett one room schools and graduated from Spencer Grade School and Spencer High School.
She is survived by three sons, Benjamin (Judy), Timothy, and Ken Stutler; nine grandchildren, Janel Preller, Sarah Johnston, Amanda Carpenter, Amber Stutler, John Stutler, April Chastain, Jerry Stutler, Casey Stutler, and Randi LeBlanc; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allen E. Stutler; great-granddaughter, Allison Clay Carpenter; her siblings, Orva (Harley) Short, Jessie (Rev. Howard) West, Frank (Dortha) Foster, Eugene (Tressa) Foster, Harley (Mildred) Foster, Gladys (Robert) Chewning, and James (Joretta) Foster; and her grandparents, Benjamin and Mary Foster and Theodore and Dora Bartlett; two nephews and three nieces.
Service will be at 12:00 noon Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Reedy, West Virginia. Visiting is one hour prior to the service on Saturday.>P> |
