Emily Anderson and Jaiden Francis competed at the Drum Majorettes of America Mini Nationals in Cleveland Tennessee, on January 19. Emily brought home First Place in her division and Jaiden brought home 3rd in hers.
This is Anderson's first National title. Emily is the daughter of Shannon and Trudi Anderson of Grantsville and Jaiden is the daughter of Keith and Doris Francis also of Grantsville.
Both ladies are members of The Marching Carousels and Captains of Calhoun Marching Band Majorette Line under the direction of Kristie Ritchie. The girls also put in lots of practice hours with their private instructors. Emily is a student of Kayla Vankirk of Parkersburg and Jaiden is a student of Lily Wright of Huntington.
