MAN SHOOTS ROOMMATE - Deputies with the Harrison County Sheriff's Department have arrested a Clarksburg man for the shooting death of Brantley Langford.
According to deputies, on Monday, January 7, Mason Lynch, 22, of Clarksburg shot and killed his roommate, Brantley Langford, 20, at their residence. Deputies said the residence was located on White Blossom Drive in Clarksburg. Lynch stated that he shot Langford, deputies said.
Lynch has been charged with first degree murder.
OFFICER SHOT, SHOOTER KILLED - A Putnam County police officer was said to be in stable condition early Monday morning after a reported shooting late Sunday night that ended with a suspect dead.
The wounded officer was Sgt. Phillip Armetrout. He was treated and released this morning at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington with a gunshot wound to to the leg.
Investigators said there was a chase before the unidentified suspect wrecked a vehicle near the intersection of Route 60 and Route 34 in Putnam County.
It was there that a Hurricane police officer was shot in the leg while approaching the vehicle, according to early reports.
The suspect was killed in return fire from both Hurricane Police and responding deputies with Putnam County. |
