A Calhoun EMS ambulance crashed in the Sanoma Road area of Rt. 14 in Wirt County about 2 a.m. Thursday.
The ambulance was returning from delivering a patient to a Parkersburg hospital, according to Julie Sears, Calhoun 911-OES Director.
The two EMTs on board were not seriously injured, but were taken to Minnie Hamilton Health System by Wirt EMS for evaluation.
Reports said the EMTs, with the help of a passerby, had to kick the windshield out to exit the vehicle after it went over an embankment.
The ambulance was reportedly heavily damaged.
Sears said a spare ambulance was put in place from Minnie Hamilton Health System.
