Jesse Russell Miller, 11, of Spencer, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018, along with his mother, Lillie Ann Brown Miller, at the Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, from complications resulting from an automobile accident.
He was born January 5, 2007, at South Charleston, the son of Timothy S. Miller of Spencer and the late Lillie Ann Brown Miller.
Jesse was a sixth grade student at Spencer Middle School, Spencer. He was a member of Victory Church, Ripley and was saved on March 12, 2017. Jesse loved playing basketball. He was number 44 on the Handimart team in the Roane Youth Basketball League. Also, he was a Boy Scout. His pastimes were Xbox, YouTube, camping and kayaking. He liked muscle cars and Prius cars and dinosaurs.
He didn't care what people thought or said about him, he knew who he was, even if they didn't.
In addition to his father, Timothy S. Miller and Heather Doss, survivors include a half-sister, Chloe Fayth Miller; stepsister, Isabella Doss; paternal grandparents, Timothy R. and Brenda Miller of Spencer; paternal uncle and aunt, John and Jessica Miller of Spencer; maternal grandparents, Fred and Lois Brown of Big Bend; maternal, uncles and aunts, Chris Ashmore of Pueblo, Colo., Wesley and Tracie Brown of Clover, Orrin Brown of Big Bend; maternal aunt and uncle, Katie and Zack Lumbard of Spencer; many cousins.
A joint funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Jack Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Ward Cemetery, Spencer.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
