On December 16, 2018 after a courageous battle of two decades with illness, Linda L. Miller Gandee Nichols Richards, went home to be with her heavenly father.
She is survived by her three sons, David (Carolyn) Gandee of Clarksburg WV, Michael (Lisa) Gandee of Spencer WV, and James (Tina) Gandee also of Spencer; two stepsons; Robert (Stacy) Richards and Randy (Debbie) Richards all of Spencer; five grandchildren Kristie (Rodney) Currey of Salem WV, Matthew (Shelby) Gandee, Crystal (David) Hollandsworth all of Clarksburg, Courtney Gandee, Brandon (Angela) Gandee all of Spencer, Jessica Gandee (Adam Murray) of Vienna WV; four step grandchildren Cassie, Chris, Josh, and Sam Richards of Spencer, and multiple great grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her husbands Robert C. Richards, Herb Nichols, and Olen Gandee.
Linda was born on April 14, 1939 in Spencer, WV to the late Elwood and Marie Miller. She enjoyed a special and close relationship with her younger twin sister Peggy (Jim) Owen and her brother David (Linda) Miller.
She was a woman of strong faith which never wavered during her illness. Linda was a member of Spencer Tabernacle Church and was devoted to her church family. She enjoyed baking as the owner of Linda's Sugar Shack, a cake decorating and candy making business, where she also taught classes on decorating and candy making to many local ladies and decorating as a top ranking Home Interior consultant. She worked at G. C. Murphy's, Kellwood Factory, and retired from B&R Construction, Inc.
Linda enjoyed traveling, knitting, cooking, listening to Bluegrass Gospel and planning gatherings of family and friends. Of all the things she treasured, she loved her family most of all.
Friends may gather with the family on Friday, December 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, December 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastors Danny Whited and Loren Price officiating. Burial will follow at the Spencer Memorial Cemetery.
