CALHOUN MAN SENTENCED 1-5 YEARS IN STATE PEN

UPDATE 3/4/2019 - Benjamin Cole Laughlin, 25, of Arnoldsburg has been sentenced to 1-5 years in the penitentiary by the Roane County Circuit Court.

Laughlin was found guilty after he admitted that he took off in his vehicle when he saw police turn on their blue lights, and after driving as far as he could, fled on foot.

He is also facing drug related charges in Jackson-Kanawha county for Possession Schedule II Controlled Substance.

LAUGHLIN PLEADS GUILTY TO ROANE COUNTY CHARGES

Dec. 15, 2018 - Benjamin Cole Laughlin, 25, of Arnoldsburg, plead guilty before Judge Anita Ashley to fleeing with reckless indifference.

Laughlin admitted that he took off in his vehicle when he saw police turn on their blue lights, and after driving as far as he could, fled on foot.

He is facing a maximum sentence of 1-15 years in prison and a $2000 fine.

He is set to be sentenced on January 28.
