WOMAN RESCUED FROM AUTO CRASH ON GRANTSVILLE'S TOWN HILL

A car plunged over the hill at the top of Grantsville's Town Hill, Route 16 north, creating a problem for first responders to remove a female passenger.

The Grantsville VFD and Calhoun EMS responded to the scene about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The elderly driver managed to extract himself, sources at the scene said he appeared to have hit the gas peddle as opposed to the brake, causing the vehicle to land in a precarious position on the hillside.

The woman was removed from the vehicle by responders in a rescue basket.

Neither the driver or passenger appeared to be injured.
