A Braxton County man is in custody after he allegedly beat a man with a baseball bat in Gilmer County.
According to the criminal complaint, officers responded to Sliding Run Road after it was reported that a man broke another man's arm using a baseball bat.
When they arrived, the victim told police that he had called 55-year-old Joe Frame before arriving to pawn a chainsaw when the attack happened.
The victim told officers that when he arrived, Frame attacked him and his vehicle with a metal baseball bat for no apparent reason. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, and officers saw that one of the victim's car windows had been busted.
Officials say that when asked about the incident, Frame admitted to police that he jumped the victim, and said that the victim and/or his friends had punched him a couple of weeks before. Frame told police that he wasn't going to give the victim a chance to do that again and said that if he saw him again, he would do worse.
Police say Frame was intoxicated. He is charged with malicious wounding and destruction of property.
He is in Central Regional Jail. |
