Judge Craig Tatterson held Circuit Court in Calhoun County on November 28, 2018. Jeremy Saunders appeared for sentencing following his jury trial Wednesday before Judge Craig Tatterson, Calhoun Circuit Court.

Saunders was convicted for three counts of Sexual Abuse by a Parent, three counts of Incest, and three counts of Sexual Assault in the Third Degree.

Prosecutor Shannon Johnson said he was sentenced to ten to twenty years in the state penitentiary for the first count of Sexual Abuse by a Parent, a felony. The court also sentenced him to five to fifteen years in the state penitentiary for one count of Incest, a felony, and to one to five years in the state penitentiary for one count of Sexual Assault in the Third Degree, a felony.

Those were all to be served consecutively to one another.

In addition, Saunders was sentenced to ten to twenty years in the state penitentiary for the remaining two counts of Sexual Abuse by a Parent; five to fifteen years in the state penitentiary for the remaining two counts of Incest; and to one to five years in the state penitentiary on the remaining two counts of Sexual Assault in the Third Degree. The remaining sentences are to be served concurrently.

Johnson said upon his release from incarceration, the judge ordered that Saunders be supervised by the Calhoun County Probation Officer under the supervision of the Fifth Circuit Sex Offender Intensive Supervision Officer for a period of twenty years. Further, he will be required to register for life as a sex offender.

Also in court Wednesday, Cicily Ullum appeared for a Pre-Trial Hearing. Ullum entered a guilty plea to Possession of Methamphetamine, a Misdemeanor. She waived the right to a Pre-Sentence Investigation and was sentenced to six months probation. The Court noted that Ms. Ullum was on probation for felony drug offenses in the State of Georgia and incorporated the terms of that probation into the terms of her probation here in West Virginia.
