MONROE SHOOTING - West Virginia State Police have confirmed that a Monroe County resident was shot to death on Sunday evening.
The incident reportedly happened at a home on Orchard Road in Ballard. Officers who responded to a call regarding an altercation in progress said they found a man lying in the front yard of the residence with single gunshot wound to the upper torso. He was later identified as 37-year-old William Joseph Spencer of Ballard. The suspected shooter was at the scene when state troopers arrived, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the altercation.
A department spokesperson said an investigation was underway, and that no criminal charges had been filed. The suspect's name was withheld.
MORGANTOWN STABBING - A Morgantown man was arrested following a stabbing Friday night.
Police responded to the stabbing on South High Street at 6:41 p.m. after a reported altercation between a woman and two men.
Juan Trechsel-Valerio, 36, of Morgantown was arrested Saturday morning after being identified inside of the Sheetz store at 1012 University Avenue.
Justin Mueller, 37, of Springfield, W.Va., was stabbed multiple times and treated at a local hospital. The result of his injuries were unclear.
Trechsel-Valerio was charged with malicious wounding. |
