HISTORICAL SOCIETY'S "CHRISTMAS IN THE VILLAGE" AT CALHOUN PARK - A Must Visit Saturday

The Stemple Cabin decorated for Christmas

The Calhoun County Historical Society is excited to once again host "Christmas in the Village" on November 24th from 11 am-5 pm. We hope you will bring your family and begin the holiday season with ours.

We promise a cozy fire will be on the hearth in the Stemple Cabin and the smell of wood smoke will be in the air. Guitar music and soft chords of Christmas carols will fill the air coming from the Cain Chapel. Of course, the Freed Post Office will be open so children and adults alike can write letters to Santa, and the Stevens School will be brimming with smiles and fun for all ages.

Don't forget to bring your shopping list to the Jarvis Store, which will be filled with the shining of candles and the aroma of Christmas treats in every corner. Our vintage Saint Nicholas will be checking his list from his homemade sled and visiting with every child (young and old). Finally, we would never forget the manger. Peek in on the nativity scene in our blacksmith shop to see the real reason for the season.

We will also be adding a few new elements this year, but we will not neglect to bring you the adored traditions of last year. The tree and candle lighting ceremony will conclude the evening at 5 p.m.

Also, we are inviting some of our local artisans and crafters to sell their wares. Nothing says Merry Christmas better than a skillfully handmade gift!
