One of Calhoun's best known old-time musicians Willard Jones, 83, the Mayor of Five Forks,
is recovering from a broken hip. Jones fell last Saturday near his home on some ice, and was
taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Parkersburg for hip surgery.
Willard has returned to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center in Grantsville for continued
therapy and recovery. He will be near his wife Esta on the Long Term Care Unit. Willard, prior
to his broken hip, visited her every day.
"He has been up on all-twos, already," and is working at getting better, according to Al Hogan.
"Willard is a special kind of guy," he said.
Willard is a "cheer-giver" to people who pass his way, besides his ability to pick and sing
old-time tunes. Much of Willard's music has been recorded at Al's Barn at Munday, where he
frequently plays.
