Dorothy Ann Conner, 83, of Spencer, died Sunday, October 21, 2018, at her home.
She was born March 26, 1935, at Elizabeth, Wirt County, the daughter of the late Harmie W. and Pauline Carpenter Mace.
Dorothy was united in marriage on the 16th day of August 1958, to Roger William Conner.
Survivors include her husband, Roger W. Conner; sons and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Tywanna Conner of Prosperity, S.C. and Stephen Conner of Pomaria, S.C.; grandchildren, Spencer Alan Conner, Cody Travis (Kelsey) Conner and Jonathan Cecil Conner; great grandchild, Avery Ann Conner; sisters, Kathryn Maude Grady and Lenore (O.G. "Chuck") Helper; brother, Bobby Gene Mace.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Mace; a sister, Helen Mace Coen Lester.
Dorothy was a homemaker and mother. She was a former employee of Kellwood Company and Robey Theatre. An avid Democrat, she was a longtime member of the Roane County Democratic Committee. Also, she was a member of the Roane General Hospital Auxiliary and the Roane County Senior Citizens.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 26 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Russell B. Stump officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. The visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral.
