Roger O'dell "June" Nichols, Jr. 62 of Spencer, West Virginia passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Roane General Hospital in Spencer.
He was born on July 19, 1956 in Spencer a son of Nancy Hall Nichols of Reedy, West Virginia and the late Roger Nichols Sr. He was a lifelong oil field worker, working for Talley, Pool, Weltech, Key Energy, Excel, D & L Well Service and formerly worked at Monarch Rubber Company. He was and avid hunter, enjoyed watching football and loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the United States Army Reserves Marine Corps.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son Roger O. "Buck" (Michelle) Nichols III of Looneyville, West Virginia, a daughter Annette (Chris) Given of Spencer; one step-son Travis (Courtney) Street of Virginia, two step-daughters Brittany (Robert) Charles and Breanna (Steven) Stiltner, both of Virginia; one sister, Sheila (Jim) Hill of Reedy; one step-sister, Jennifer Starcher of Spencer; one brother, Everett (Tammy) Nichols of Spencer; one step-brother, Matthew Nichols of Spencer; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren and his dog Turbo.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Curt Nichols; step-father Daniel Thomas; and a niece Angela Brannon.
Services will be at 1:00 pm Thursday October 25, 2018 at the TAYLOR-VANDALEFUNERAL HOME in Spencer with Rev. David Young officiating, Burial will be in the Otto Cemetery near Spencer. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. |
