| Johnny Ray "John" Schwender, 63, of Spencer, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at home.
He was born February 21, 1955 at Spencer, the son of the late Oris and Irma Burgess Schwender. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Sayers; brothers, Richard and Donald Schwender.
John was a retired laborer. He was a 1973 graduate of Spencer High School, Spencer. John was a sports fan, especially football. His smile, laugh and sense of humor will be missed by many family members and friends.
Survivors include brothers, William L. Burgess of Ravenswood and Bruce Schwender of Elkview; nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life took place at noon Monday, September 24 at the Otto Cemetery. There was a gathering of family and friends prior to the service.
