Forecasters are continuing to monitor Tropical Depression Florence that is expected to bring heavy rain to some parts of the region with the greatest potential for flooding in the southern and eastern mountains of West Virginia.
Light showers expected Sunday and increasing south to north late. The heaviest rain is expected overnight through Monday morning.
Most of West Virginia is expected to receive half an inch of rain to 1 inch with more in the southern and eastern mountains.
There is a brief chance for tornadoes on Monday through the afternoon in the eastern part of the state in the higher elevations.
Meanwhile, there is a chance for some localized flooding with the possibility of more widespread flooding in the southern and eastern counties.
Gusty winds are possibly, especially in the higher elevations of eastern West Virginia.
