Mary L. Metz Pursley, 85, of Parkersburg, West Virginia formerly of Spencer, West Virginia passed away September 10, 2018 at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
She was born July 2, 1933 in Calhoun County, West Virginia a daughter of the late Glenn "Bill" and Velma Fowler McEndree. She was a 1952 Calhoun County High School graduate and was retired from Pennzoil. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Traders Bank. She was a seamstress and a member of the Advent Christian Church in Spencer.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Sharon Denise (Patrick) Grogg of Gilbert, Arizona and Robin S. Pursley of Parkersburg, with whom she made her home these past few years; one son, Vincent Nolan "Vince" Metz of Spencer; one sister, Linda (Jerry) Braden of Parkersburg; one brother, Glenn (Bobbi) McEndree of Spencer; five grandchildren, Wesley Metz, Katrina Lawson, Jason Grogg, Nina Grogg and Nathan (Kali) Pursley; one great-granddaughter, Emberly Pursley; and a brother-in-law, David Noble of Taylorsville, North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Garland Metz; second husband, Oather Pursley; and a sister, Doris McEndree Noble.
Per her request, the body was cremated. There will be a memorial service at the Spencer Advent Church at a later date at the discretion of the family. The date and time will be announced later.
TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements. There will be no service or visitation at the funeral home. |
