The Grand Jury of Calhoun County met on September 4, issuing seven indictments, according to Prosecutor Shannon Johnson.
Judge Anita Harold Ashley presided. After hearing cases presented by Prosecutor Johnson and one by Special Prosecuting Attorney Josh Downey, returned the following indictments:
Linda Lee Arnold, 66, was indicted on one count of Fraud in Obtaining Welfare Benefits, a Felony. This case was investigated by Tim Moses of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.
Rick D. Boatright, 51, was indicted on three counts of Illegal Possession of Destructive Devices, Explosive Materials or Incendiary Devices, a Felony. This case was presented by Sheriff Jeffrey Starcher of the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department.
Brian Keith Burrows, 37, was indicted on one count Grand Larceny, a Felony. This case was presented by Sheriff Jeffrey Starcher of the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department.
Christian Kyle Cottrell, 26, was indicted on one count of Strangulation, a Felony; one count Child Abuse Resulting in Bodily Injury, a Felony; one count Violation of a Protective Order, a Misdemeanor; one count Driving revoked for DUI, Second Offense, a Misdemeanor. This case was investigated by Sgt. C. J. Weekley of the West Virginia State Police.
Justin Hannah, 23, was indicted on one count Grand Larceny, a Felony; Receiving or Transferring a Stolen Vehicle, a Felony. This case was investigated by TFC D. C. Moore of the West Virginia State Police.
Aaron Elijah Lloyd, 32, was indicted on one count Domestic Battery, 3rd or Subsequent Offense, a Felony; one count Violation of a Domestic Violence Probation Order, a Misdemeanor. This case was investigated by Cpl J. B. Hunt of the West Virginia State Police.
Joseph Eagle, 41, was indicted on one count Burglary, a Felony; two counts Attempt to Commit a Felony, a Felony; and one count Domestic Battery; one count Domestic Assault; one count Brandishing a Deadly weapon, a felony. This case was investigated by Cpl J. B. Hunt of the West Virginia State Police.
Indictments returned against individuals are merely charges at this time and are not indications of guilt. All the above Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. |
