9/13/2018 - Funeral services are Sunday for Wesley Shaun Brown, 40, of Wallback, who died September 7 from injuries received in a logging accident on Jesses Run, Calhoun County.
He was a timber cutter and a graduate of Clay County High School, Class of 1997.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16 at the Maysel Community Church, Maysel, with Pastor Brodis Brown officiating. The visitation will be from noon until 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
CLAY MAN DEAD IN TRAUMATIC LOGGING ACCIDENT ON JESSES RUN
UPDATE 9/8/2018 - Authorities have identified a 40-year-old man who died in logging accident in a hollow off Jesses Run Road before noon Friday.
He is Wesley Brown of Wallback, an employee of D & B Logging.
Authorities said Brown died when a tree fell on him, crushing his hard hat.
30-YEAR-OLD LOGGER DEAD IN JESSES RUN WOODS ACCIDENT
NOON 9/7/2018 -A 40-year-old logger is dead after being struck in the head by a tree in a remote hollow off Jesses Run Road.
An official at the scene indicated that the man was wearing a hard hat, which was crushed.
Calhoun EMS and responders were dispatched about 11:10 a.m. Friday to the scene, which required access by a four-wheel drive.
Calhoun Sheriff Jeff Starcher was responding to the scene, in addition to a medical examiner.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family.
Jesses Run is a cross-road between US 33-119 (Liberty Hill) to Alizer Road below Arnoldsburg. |
