INSTITUTE MURDER - West Virginia State Police say a man was shot multiple times and killed Wednesday evening in Institute.
Troopers said Andre Leonard, who was in his mid to late 20s, was fatally shot at about 6:10 p.m. at the intersection of Elm Street and Wheatley Street in Institute.
Troopers believe Leonard and the suspect knew one another and said there was a conversation that took place between the two before the shooting happened.
According to troopers, a person of interest has been interviewed, but no arrests have been made at this time.
The shooting took place near West Virginia State University's campus and students were told to stay in their current location and lock their doors.
The school lifted the lockdown after about an hour. |
