| Danny E. Hicks, 72 of Newton, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, following and extended illness.
He was born July 18, 1946 at Newton, a son of the late Olaf E. and Annie E. McClain Hicks.
Danny had worked as an auto mechanic, and enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Kathy Rae Mitchell, and Sandra Lee Drake.
Survivors include his son, Danny E. Hicks, Jr., of Newton; step-daughter, Wanda Ann Holt of Sapulpa, OK; brothers, Steve Hicks and Jerry Hicks, both of Harrison; and sister, Cheryl Dean of Big Chimney. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 12, at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Philip E. Linger officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the time of service.
