Judith I. Hayes, 70, of Spencer, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018.
She was born May 23, 1948 at Charleston, the daughter of the late William C. and Alberta M. Cavender Copen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Jewel Copen and a brother, Richard Merle Copen.
Survivors include her husband, of 50 years, Donald G. Hayes of Spencer; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Mike Varney of Gay; son and his fiancée, Wayne Hayes and Kimberly Miller of Spencer; grandchildren, Cayden Hayes, Dylan Hayes and Jonathan Miller; sisters, Wyona Manack of Orrville, Ohio, Nancy Copen of Charleston, Carole Bright of South Charleston, Sharon Hodge of Big Chimney; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Rosa Copen of Yelm, Wash.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Susan and Joe Landis of Gandeeville; numerous nieces and nephews.
Judith was a 22 year employee of the American Greeting Card Company. She was a Christian and attended the Gandeeville Community Church, Gandeeville. She was also an avid reader.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 8 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Evangelists Bryan and Bridgette Funk officiating. Burial will be in the Gandeeville Cemetery, Gandeeville.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
