10:15 am - Areas Affected: Braxton; Clay; Northwest Nicholas
NWS Charleston (West Virginia):
A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT NORTH CENTRAL NICHOLAS... SOUTHWESTERN BRAXTON AND NORTHEASTERN CLAY COUNTIES, a strong thunderstorm was located 7 miles east of Big Otter, or 12 miles northeast of Clay, moving northeast at 15 mph. Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with this storm. Locations impacted include... Sutton, Gassaway, Harrison, Little Birch, Frametown, Strange Creek, Wilsie and Servia. This includes Interstate 79 between mile markers 41 and 64. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a
Flash Flood Warning for Central Lewis County in northern West Virginia... Northeastern Braxton County in north central West Virginia... West central Upshur County in northeastern West Virginia until 1245.
* At 942 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.
