Ronald W. "Ron" Collins, 79, of Arnoldsburg, WV passed away quietly at his home on July 3, 2018. He was surrounded by family.
He was born June 6, 1939 in Freed WV, a son of the late Willie and Nancy Collins.
He was a loving husband and father. He grew up drilling gas wells and working in a machine shop. Then he drove semi-truck over the road for 20 years until he retired in 2004. He loved music especially Bluegrass and he taught himself to play guitar and later the dobro.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann Collins; six children, Cathy, Candie, Rick, Rodd, Cammie, and Tricia; one brother, Paul Collins; sister, Phyllis Bunner; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his oldest son, Randy; brothers, Delmas and Darl; and sister, Opal.
He was a wonderful family man and will be loved and missed by all.
A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville WV on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Steven Carter officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Saunders Cemetery.
