Ruth "Annabelle" Dougherty 76, of Looneyville, West Virginia went to her eternal home June 30, 2018 at Roane General Hospital in Spencer, West Virginia.
She was born July 13, 1941 in Fayetteville, West Virginia a daughter of the late John J. and Beulah Eagle Bailes. She was a member of the Epling Chapel Baptist Church, Looneyville. She previously worked at the Charleston Department Store and the Spencer State Hospital and was a PostMaster Replacement at the Looneyville Post Office.
Annabelle is survived by her husband of 57 years, Homer H. Dougherty; one son, John Dougherty and his wife, Pat of Spencer, West Virginia; one daughter, Melissa Nichols and her husband, Randall of Looneyville; grandchildren, Heather Johnson and her husband, Michael of Ravenswood, West Virginia, and Heidi Alvis and her husband, Jason of Spencer; great-grandchildren, Luke and Levi Johnson of Ravenswood; sister, Lois Jett and her husband, Roland of Spencer; brother, Robert Bailes of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Jane Rupe and Judy Goins; and brothers, Harry, S. Dale and John Bailes.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, with Rev. Danny Whited officiating. Burial will be in the Looney-Dougherty Cemetery, Looneyville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Kanawha Hospice, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston WV 25301. |
