Phyllis Carol Richards, 70, died on June 21, 2018 at Charleston Area Medical Center after a sudden illness.
She was born on December 25, 1947 in Grantsville, WV to the late Willie and Ruth Cogar. Phyllis loved WV and was proud to call Calhoun County her home for her lifetime.
She was married for 50 years to her loving husband Henry Richards. She was a homemaker for much of her life and thoroughly enjoyed watching her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great granddaughter grow and enjoy their lives.
Phyllis loved family celebrations, her two cats - Lucky & Tabby, flowers, cooking, crocheting, and car rides in the country with Henry. She also spent 13 years using her sewing skills at RPR industries.
Surviving are her husband William Henry Richards, two daughters Becky (Bill) Edwards and Kelly (Brett) Ubbens, 3 grandchildren Jacob (Emily) Edwards, Lakyn Edwards, and Ansley Ubbens, and 1 great-grandchild Grace Edwards.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her siblings James Cogar, Violet Parsons, AnnaMae Parsons, and Dorothy Jean Burrows.
A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville, WV on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be at Hunt Cemetery.
